
Recent study claims that British females have more fascination for shoes than anyone in Europe does. It is proved that British females own a pair for everyday in a month. According to Mintel’s research, one in 10 UK women - 2.6 million women aged 16 and up - are aspiring Carrie Bradshaws. They currently own at least 30 pairs of shoes. Mintel claims the expenditure that UK has raised by 38per cent since 2001 and reaching over £6.5 billion this year. It predicts the figures are likely to increase by 17 per cent by 2010 (£7.6 billion).

This is true because now everyone wants to wear everything matching your dress or wear according to occasion. We cannot think of wearing sports shoes for an evening, for that we need to have stilettos or something shimmering on feet. Imagine if you have to wear different pair for different occasion then automatically you will land up bagging in a huge number of shoes with you.
Its not only ones own taste but they want to slip into those pairs which celebrities are wearing like the characters of “Sex and the City” TV series has created a legacy in terms of a market for fabulously expensive shoes.
The young British actress Keira Knightley, who admits her ‘obsession with shoes.’ She says “I see a pair of shoes I adore, and it doesn’t matter if they have them in my size. I buy them anyway, I have shoes I’ve never taken out of the box. I even have shoes that don’t fit.”
