They compared a $495 pair of Manolo Blahnik’s against a $69 pair from Nine West. Manolo shoes are more comfortable and supportive than Nine West, no doubt, Nine West is a good company but Manolo Blahnik is better. 
Nine West make shoes on a large scale with machines and Manolo creates every piece with hands. Hand made products are more firm and there is less scope of errors in them, while in machine-made there are scope of loose end. Walker said about Manolo Blahnik shoe, “They were more comfortable because they felt like they had more support. But the Nine West has a synthetic bottom with grooves in it that might avoid slips.”
The price has to be high when everything to produce a shoe is manual, whether it is to stitch or to stick.
