stiletto heels
A stiletto heel is a long and thin heel usually found on some boots and shoes specially designed for women. Stiletto heels are generally of 2 inches to 7 inches of height. Sometimes its diameter at the ground is less than even 1 cm. It is not only the height but also a full range of stylish heeled shoes.

A metal shaft within them supports the heels. Stiletto heels are always a fashion item and so its popularity keeps on changing. It started in 1950s and got popular among stylish ladies till 1960s but after that it faded away. Again in 1980s Stiletto heels were worn with wide shouldered power suits by the office going ladies. In 1990s it almost disappeared and was replaced by ladies wearing thick, block heels.

The comeback of the slender, stylish stiletto in 2000 among the ladies added a feminine touch to dressing up either for office wears or casual wears like jeans.

Though stiletto heels are fashion symbols, they have some disadvantages too. The force exerted by such heels is in large amount and that too in a very small area and thus causes damage to carpets and lawn grass.

Sometimes, it may hurt the wearer as it is difficult to keep one’s balance. Lastly the most important thing to consider is that if these are used as daily wears, they can cause leg, hip and back problems.

NASCAR has a line of shoes designed in stiletto. The black and white checks make it wear with any colour dress and thus by just keeping one or two pairs will be sufficient to add a little bit of fashion even for those girls who cannot afford to have a lot of pairs for different dresses.
