You’d be surprised to know that our cute Croc shoes are banned in a hospital in Pittsburgh and they are not safe to be worn on an escalator.

According to Sharon Krystofiak, the infection control manager of the hospital, the holes that ventilate the shoes pose a safety hazard.

If there’s a chance you could drop something like a syringe in one of them, we want to avoid that. Some of those holes are relatively large, almost like a dime.”

This policy was put into effect when a nurse was wearing Crocs and a needle stuck her shoes.

Comfort, style and lightweight are the grounds of the skyrocket sale of these shoes. Even I was planning to buy one pair for myself, but another news struck my eyes. They say (and is true) that Crocs are inappropriate to wear while on a lazy trip to the mall because the soft rubbery shoes get easily caught in the escalator. Actually, the soft sole of a Croc does not stand up well to escalators, like a harder-soled sneaker. If the Croc is stuck in the side, it could very well pull down your foot in seconds.

Hence, please make sure that you ride at the center of the escalator step to save yourself from being stuck.

What is the primary reason for a person to buy Nike footwear? Comfort, durability, etc, etc.... And these features stem from one particular aspect of all Nike footwear - the all-weather material they use in most of their shoes and sandals. And, when it is a key strength, would a company dare to stray away and create something different? If it is Nike, it would.

We have always known Nike as an aggressive and innovative company. It lives up to this reputation by introducing its first pair of leather sandals. The sandals have a suede footbed and Nike’s trademark minimalist design - this time criss-cross black straps.

The sandals haven’t hit the markets but going by the looks, we can definitely say that Nike fans would certainly lap it up.

What’s your style today? Don’t scratch your head and listen to what suggestion I have for you. Today, move out in a vintage look. If you are not comfortable in a vintage dress then try to play with your accessories. Mary Jane or Lolita fashion will surely take you to late nineteenth century. My suggestion to you is to slip into any of these two shoes, which are styled like Mary Jane. The choice is all yours - whether you want a high heel or flat shoe.

Shown above is ‘Idle’ by Nine West for $82.95. These ballerina shoes come in three colors - rust (shown), black and yellow. They feature in half-inch heel and adjustable Mary Jane strap.

Or if you want to go with a heel, how about the ‘Alita‘ by Two Lips? Conservative lines are paired with a chic stacked wedge for a unique contrast. These leather shoes feature 2¾-inch heel, Mary Jane style button strap and three colors - rust (shown), chocolate brown and black. Price: $75.95

Hey, don’t think that rust is my favorite color, actually I was matching these shoes with this vintage clutch.

I was surprised to see the return of jelly sandals. I don’t know how I feel about the return of this trend of 80’s but the blur memories of my childhood reminds me of my feet sweating in inflorescent green jellies. Leave aside what my memories say, you just concentrate on the latest trend - the jelly sandals! Here is a list of top ten jelly sandals, which appealed me for this season:

10. Kenzo Espadrilles

Price: $139.99

These are very casual espadrilles like Roman flat thong. It features in rubber lining, natural material braided into rope to make woven footbed and has dual color choice - black and turquoise.

9. J. Renee Women’s Ginger

Price: $45.99

Here is a very pretty combination of metallic and lucite. If you can’t wear a complete jelly sandal, this is a good alternative in favor of your pine for jelly footwears. These feature in soft metallic satin fabric and clear vinyl with crystal accented front strap. They are available in hot turquoise and purple color scheme.

8. Betsey Johnson Women’s Josephine II

Price: $79.99

Betsey Johnson designs these cute Mary Jane shoes to find an expression for the child heart lurking inside you. The round closed toe with diamond shaped cutouts and faux gemstone embellishment makes it my choice. Available in four different shades - clear, purple, smoke and turquoise.

7. MICHAEL Michael Kors ‘Joe Jelly’ Sandal

Price: $44.95

Life is colorful and Michael Kors understands it better. He is renowned for his classic, chic, and luxurious but sensible aesthetic collection and these Joe Jelly thongs are perfect example of it. These are from his recent fashion line, MICHAEL Michael Kors, and features in transparent straps and a logo-print footbed. These sandals are available in Beautiful fuchsia (shown), black, kelly green and turquoise colors.

6. Not Rated Women’s Jenny

Women’s Jenny thong by Not Rated is a high street fashion sandal with large rhinestones on T-strap. Available in only two shades - smoke and clear.

5. Rampage Jelli

Pink is always a hot color and these jelly sandals with polka dot footbed are really chic. They are available in two colors - pink and clear/white.

4. Stuart Weitzman Jelly Sandal

It’s a divinly style thong by Stuart Weitzman. Silver crocodile-embossed insole and silver rhinestone detail on cutout upper T-strap make it my choice.

3. Stuart Weitzman ‘Jellystone’ Sandal

Price: $115

Let the world peep into your feet with these jellystone sandals. The swarovski crystals accent on the clear jelly sandals appear like water droplets on your feet. It’s styled with a croc-embossed metallic leather footbed.

2. Sequined Jelly Sandals

Price: $8.51

I wish these were for adults also. However, these are super-stylish sandals in attractive colors - bronze, purple, turquoise, silver, green and pink, but sparkling glitters add more beauty to them.

1. J. Renee’s Butterfish Jelly Sandal

Please leave behind the myth that jelly shoes can’t be good dress sandals. J. Renee proves it erroneous with these bewitching butterfish jelly sandals in faux gemstone bejeweled fish embellishment with diaphanous fins.
